Toby’s Estate in Sydney emerged victorious at the inaugural World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops Gala, underscoring the excellence of Australia’s coffee culture. A total of nine Australian cafés secured positions in the prestigious top 100 rankings.
The event, held at CoffeeFest Madrid in Spain, marked a significant milestone for the coffee industry, highlighting the caliber of Australian roasters and baristas. Toby’s Estate flagship café and roastery in Chippendale, Sydney, claimed the coveted first place, showcasing the nation’s commitment to delivering exceptional coffee experiences.
Combining public votes with expert evaluations, the rankings considered various criteria such as coffee quality, barista expertise, customer service, innovation, ambience, sustainability practices, food offerings, and consistency. Toby’s Estate’s flagship café in Chippendale stood out for its immersive experience, allowing patrons to witness the coffee-making process up close.
The café’s open layout and island brew bar provide a unique perspective on the art of coffee preparation, fostering a deeper connection between customers and baristas. Additionally, visitors can explore the roastery through glass doors at the back of the café, gaining insight into the meticulous process of roasting Toby’s signature blends and specialty beans.
With over 25 years of industry experience, Toby’s Estate has expanded its footprint beyond Sydney, establishing flagship cafés in Brisbane, Singapore, the Middle East, and the Philippines.
