Expocacer, the renowned Cerrado Coffee Growers Cooperative based in Brazil, is making waves in the international coffee market by unveiling its latest logistics hub in the United Kingdom (UK). This strategic move not only cements Expocacer’s global presence but also signifies a significant step towards streamlining coffee distribution in the UK and Europe.
With an anticipated growth of up to 15% in sales within the first year, the UK logistics hub offers a direct avenue for consumers to purchase Expocacer’s products. This development comes on the heels of Expocacer’s successful expansion into the United States in 2024, solidifying its position as a key player in the coffee export industry, serving over 35 countries worldwide.
Being the first Brazilian coffee cooperative to establish international distribution bases, Expocacer is tapping into the UK’s robust coffee culture, where an astounding 98 million cups of coffee are consumed daily. The thriving café culture in the UK, with 80% of coffee shop visitors frequenting these establishments weekly, sets the stage for Expocacer’s strategic move.
Ítalo Henrique, Expocacer’s Commercial Director, emphasized the importance of the European market, noting that London’s role as a distribution hub enables faster and more efficient delivery to consumers across Europe. By ensuring that coffee is readily available in warehouses under Expocacer’s name, the cooperative aims to bridge the gap between producers and consumers, bringing them closer than ever before.
In 2024, Expocacer witnessed a remarkable 41% growth in coffee exports, generating approximately US$165 million in revenue from selling over 550,000 60-kilogram sacks to international markets. Simão Pedro de Lima, CEO of Expocacer, highlighted the deep-rooted presence of coffee in the UK and the increasing popularity of specialty coffee shops, making Expocacer’s direct-from-farm model a game-changer in the industry.
Beyond enhancing market reach, Expocacer’s foray into the UK market aligns with the global trend of rising specialty coffee consumption, which is growing at an annual rate of 12%. With the global coffee market projected to reach US$166 billion by 2029, Expocacer’s commitment to environmentally responsible farming practices further solidifies its position as a frontrunner in the industry.
As Expocacer unveils its full portfolio of coffee offerings in the UK, accompanied by its expertise in sustainable farming practices, including regenerative agriculture and low-carbon coffee farming, the cooperative is poised to cater to the evolving demands of discerning coffee enthusiasts worldwide.
