The Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) is set to return in March 2026 after a successful event in 2025 that drew a record number of attendees. More than 31,000 visitors and 134 exhibitors participated in the expo, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The expo provided a platform for industry professionals, enthusiasts, and innovators to engage, network, and showcase their products and expertise.
Building on the achievements of MICE 2025, organizers are gearing up to introduce new and returning events to enhance the visitor experience for MICE 2026. One of the highlights of the previous expo was the Roasters Playground, which featured Australia’s top roasters offering tastings, competitions, and interactive sessions. This proved to be a central attraction for both trade and public visitors, fostering connections between industry professionals and consumers.
Responding to feedback from the industry, a new initiative called MICE after dark will extend the expo hours into the evening, allowing café owners and hospitality professionals more flexibility to engage with the event outside peak business hours. This move aims to ensure broader participation from key members of the coffee industry, creating a unique experience and facilitating connections across the international coffee value chain.
Another exciting addition to MICE 2026 is the Trip to Origin feature, which will bring together coffee farmers, green bean traders, and representatives from coffee-producing regions to provide visitors with insights into the origins of coffee. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between consumers and origin communities by offering educational content, interactive tasting areas, and direct engagement opportunities.
Recognizing the contributions of individuals in the coffee sector, the Coffee Industry Heroes awards held during the MICE After Party honor those who have made significant impacts on the industry. Categories include Community Champion, Next-Gen Talent, and Lifetime Achievement, acknowledging the dedication and innovation of industry professionals across different facets of the coffee market.
Sponsors play a crucial role in shaping the MICE experience, with brands like MILKLAB creating engaging stands and experiences for attendees. The expo serves as a hub for creativity and connection within the coffee sector, offering a platform for exhibitors to showcase their products, engage with audiences, and drive innovation in the industry.
With exhibitor spots filling up fast for MICE 2026, the event is poised for another year of growth and success. MICE continues to be a valuable platform for businesses in the coffee sector to showcase their offerings, foster partnerships, and stay abreast of industry trends. From product displays to educational content and networking opportunities, MICE2026 promises to build on the achievements of the past while introducing new and exciting experiences for attendees.
